Time to tell companies what we really think

Is it just me – or is anyone else driven nuts by corporate emails asking ‘how did we do?” as though they have done something special.

Seriously.

All they have done is the job they were (over) paid to do!

Let’s make a resolution for 2020 to reply to this rubbish and tell them how they really do!

Ha ha, good idea Kaye, and no it's not just you. :)

Generally I give good feedback for good service and am happy to do that. On one occassion though I was not happy and provided gentle negative feedback to a business. I was really amazed with the response ..they emailed heaps and even phoned to apologise for the fact I was not happy. They wanted to compensate me. I said I did not expect compensation, was just responding truthfully to their survey. In the end they gave me a discount should I use their service again. I was really impressed by their response, their caring about an unhappy customer and their willingness to make amends. It made me feel that I would use that business again if I needed the sort of service they provide.

The request for feedback might bug but I think it is good business practice on the whole. I used to have my own business and really appreciated both positive and negative feedback.

i tell companies what i think good and bad , its a way of finding out the few companies that care or not  like the tv i just got that suddenly will only play my dvds on narrow view , ( they were full screen on the previous 2 yo tv ) this company doesnt care

tisme

Would it not still be covered by warranty ??

Hi tisme,

I had a similar problem years ago on a Dick Smith TV. Had to go to 3 stores to find someone who knew what to do. If I recall correctly we had to press the key SUBPAGE (BOTTOM left on our remote).

You'll have to experiment re when to press, either when you see the DVD menu before or after  pressing play.

When your in any shop where you buy something and they sell TV's ask them if anyone there knows how to fix it, or maybe contact TV manufacture or import agent.

Good luck

Yes, nearly everywhere you go (physically) and nearly all computer type sites have these things. All it says to me is that YOU are going to do ALL the work.

There are no people in chatrge who actually know what is going on ... look, I worked for a big govt organisation some years ago and they did the same thing with us employees : how much time did we spend doing various tasks. Well, we all lied, or at least I did. To make things easy for me, I recorded the same times to the same tasks wekk in, week out. Yes, I know, wrong, wrong, wrong but all it meant to me was that  the people "in charge" never had a clue what was going on.

When I worked for the Big Australian some years before I was told that the new way of doing things was the Japanese way. Don't do a lot of work, just do a lot of planning. Well, it turned out that the Japanese way was really and American idea that was flogged to them. But the idea was the same. The "little" people at the bottom were now gunna tell all the managers how to do their jobs, I think it was called something like "inversion management". I wasn't popular, I preferred to to things my way and actually did things. I got sacked. (I'm sincere here) and all these "were you given good service" etc things that come along are a continuance of that tripe.

No one has to really know how anything is going but looking at reports makes some feel big. The big ones if you ask me are the one who actually KNOW what is going on ...... but how do "they" get these lofty posis. Welllllllllllll, some of them are bloody good crawlers ..... and of course there are still workers and knowledgable people in the mix.

It is like the old saying. 70% of employees are bludgers and the other 30% carry them, and THAT is the way I found it and usually ones out of the 70% got all the rewards, so there was no real incentive to slog your guts out.

Crawling and "yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir" usuually got you places. There I swore I'd never get onto this "comments" thing again - you are probably all saying why did you and I am sure that I never will again!

Imagine Reagan getting banned .... how long for Kiah ???

BUT GETTING BACK TO THE TOPIC

I always seem to get one of those questionaire from Australia Post, Woolworths and Coles

...suppose one could fix it if they were to unsubscribe from the particular company that is causing one offence.

I am surprised that Reagan is banned and not ABE.

Since it appears we are now giving Kaye and YLC feedback, I will add mine. Thank you for removing Reagan who has bullied me and others since he entered in 2015. It is a relief to see action taken but he is one of a group who remain and who all have email contact with each other outside of the forums so I don't expect to see much change. Hopefully though, the removal of Reagan will provide warning to them that their bullying and harassment which is often delivered on mass will not be tolerated? One can only hope!

Apart from the problem I experience with this gang of bullies I enjoy the forums and thank you for your good service in providing them. Need to add that there are lots of nice people here too.

I don't give praise to companies, but, yesterday I was checking my bank statement when I saw they deducted $15.00 for a missed payment. I immediately rang the bank and spoke with a very nice employee. I asked him why I had been charged the $15.00, he checked it up and came back and said I had missed a payment on my Mastercard. I asked him when it was due and he said 14th December, I was talking to him on 15th December. I thought it was a bit rich having to pay up after being late 1 day. He then said would I like it if they gave me back the $15,00 because I had been such a loyal customer for over 30 years. I said yes I would, on checking my statement this morning, they had refunded the $15.00. That was Westpac Bank.

Ny19 but can't the bullies just use a different name and email address to sign up again?

How come you call me girlie? How do you know what I am, I like to be neutral on this forum. So you have not been banned after all. Who are the bullies anyway? They only attack me on certain topics, apparently they don't like me eating my veggies lol.

I don't mind leaving feedback good or bad, but if I do have a bad experience I always contact the company to resolve first. I always get a good and reasonable offer to compensate.

I always leave feedback and I give credit where it is due   BUT I also tell them when things are not right and I am starting to get a few replies to a few of my feedbacks --

We all have to stand up and be counted and not allow them to get away with what they try on --

Last pick up from Woolies I got ordinary plastic bags -- still cost me $1 but I will be on to them about that too I was bio-degradable bags

Well I have written to Summit about our Bosch microwave Plan B.  Shall wait a week and see what response we receive!  I think it is a bit rich putting in a 6 year old oven in a new house. No wonder there was rust on it, I think the enamel must have been a second for it to rust as well.

Yes Plan B now that we have no choice of not having the plastic bags we should not be charged, Woolies pre-covid was doing the crate thing and you could unload it from the crate. I still got my bagged up shopping handed to me from the crate, so much for contactless delivery, mind you I did wash my hands afterwards.

Good on you Celia, I think it is definately wrong to be putting in an old oven and palm it off as new, I really hope you get a response, but maybe considering contacting consumer affairs too.
