August deals are here

It’s the first of August. And that means we’ve entered the third and final month of winter, for which most Australians will probably be grateful. And while the weather across much of the country hasn’t warmed up just yet, we’ve found some hot deals.

This week’s deals include streaming services, early bird flight specials and some great grocery bargains at IGA.

OzBargain streaming specials

In most parts of Australia, the weather isn’t quite warm enough for outdoor leisure activities. So why not wile away your leisure hours with some quality streaming content? OzBargain has alerted us to a new offer that could be a good introduction. If you subscribe or gift a subscription to live-streaming service Twitch, you’ll get three months of Apple TV+ free.

Apple TV+ is home to some very popular shows, such as Ted Lasso, Severance and Silo. Three months of Apple TV+ is a great introduction. This Twitch offer is valid until 19 August.

Of course, Apple TV+ is just one of a host of streaming services on offer in Australia these days, almost too many to choose from. One way to solve this problem is to take advantage of introductory offers.

Finder has published a list of 24 streaming services and the free trial periods that come with them. Most are seven days, but Prime Video offers 30 days, while Flash, which specialises in live news, offers 14 days. Check out the full list of free trials here.

Virgin’s Book Early sale

While you might prefer to stay indoors for a little while longer, warmer weather will eventually come to our shores. And thanks to Virgin’s Book Early sale, if you can organise your calendar now, you’ll make some great savings.

Or how about Sydney to Brisbane for just $135? That’s the price you’ll pay for an Economy Lite flight if you book now for any of the following date ranges:

  • 3 August 2024 to 11 September 2024
  • 11 November 2024 to 18 December 2024
  • 29 January 2025 to 16 April 2025.

Not forgetting our friends in Western Australia and Tasmania, flights from Perth to Hobart are available for just $329. This special price applies if you book now for flights between 1 September 2024 and 16 September 2024, 11 October 2024 and 26 October 2024, or 31 January 2025 to 19 May 2025.

Snack time

Whether you are browsing through Virgin’s great flight deals, taking advantage of a streaming trial or kicking back and watching the Paris Olympics, you’ll still need your daily sustenance. And a few snacks to boot.

The new IGA catalogue can help you in that department. They’ve got Smith’s crinkle cut chips at half price, a range of Pascall and Natural Confectionery Company packs for at least $1.65 off the regular price, and six-packs of Uncle Tobys Roll-Ups, also discounted by $1.65 or more.

If you’re after something more on the healthy side, IGA has avocados for just $1.79 each. Or grab a kilogram of delicious Granny Smith apples for just $3.99 and a kilogram bag of fresh carrots for $1.49.

And there are plenty more specials for you at IGA this week. See this week’s catalogue here.
