Have you been affected by the Westpac and St George app outage?

Westpac and St George customers are reporting they still couldn’t access their internet banking for the third day in a row yesterday – and are now preparing for a potential fourth day without access to funds.

Yesterday was another day of frustration after there were also service outages on Monday and Tuesday, making it three days in a row that customers were unable to access their funds.

Some customers say they have been unable to access mobile app banking services, while others say they have been unable to load Westpac’s online banking website at all.

It’s been causing quite the stir on social media, with frustrated customers flocking to Reddit and X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Still not working this morning. 3 days in a row,” one Reddit user quipped.

“Not working for me either,” another replied.

Some users were just annoyed, while others were downright angry.

“On the phone with them now, Westpac are a joke,” said one user.

“I’m going to cancel my credit card and move to NAB after this next bill cycle,” said another.

Over on X, business owners and customers alike were even angrier.

“Westpac, do you have any updates about the outage? [I] would really like to pay my staff today,” said one boss.

“Why is it so hard for you to communicate with customers?”

Another poster was even more incandescent. “Online banking is down again for the second time in 24 hours … and NO, it is NOT me … it’s YOUR SYSTEM!” they fumed.

Another person got a bit more philosophical about why Westpac and St George found themselves in this situation.

“You close our bank branches, leaving us no option, shut us down online, denying us access to our money. It’s not your money. Time to put cash back under the mattress folks, this is just not good enough,” they said.
