Big Halloween specials on flights, tickets and much more

Those who celebrate Halloween can put their trick or treating behind them after tonight and concentrate on what’s next. And what exactly is next? That will vary. For some it will mean an immediate shift of focus to Christmas. For lovers of horse racing, it means immersing themselves in the spring racing carnival and the Melbourne Cup.

Others will focus on Australia’s other great sporting love, cricket, be it as a player or spectator. If you love watching the game, Cricket Australia has a great offer for you this week.

Quite a few others will focus on a late November shopping event known as Black Friday. Though it was born of American traditions (it is a post-Thanksgiving sale), it’s taken hold in a big way here.

That means there are potential bargains ahead, but it does not mean there aren’t bargains to be had now. And we’ve uncovered some great ones this week. Along with the Cricket Australia deal, they include great Qantas deals and catalogue bargains from Foodworks.

Have a bash at this

Big Bash cricket is back, with the 10th season of the WBBL kicking off this week. There have already been some thrilling finishes, including a dramatic win by the Sydney Sixers, courtesy of debutante Caoimhe Bray hitting the winning runs made all the more impressive by the fact that she is just 15 years old.

The good news for fans is that although WBBL10 has started, early bird pricing is still available for the men’s BBL competition. With matches being played in all states and territories, here’s your chance to see the cream of Australia’s T20 players from great seats for a great price.

Plan your viewing excitement here, but don’t wait too long. This offer ends on 14 November.

Fly to the cricket with Qantas

Of course, your cricket viewing doesn’t have to be local only. How about catching a WBBL match or a men’s BBL game in another state? Qantas has some deals that will help you do that on a budget.

For instance, the Hobart Hurricanes will be hosting the Melbourne Renegades on 21 November. Thanks to Qantas, Renegades fans can get there for as little as $119.

Or Sydney Sixers fans can travel up to Brisbane for their match against the Heat on 24 November from just $166

And there are plenty of specials on offer from Qantas, whether cricket is your game or not. Check out the full range of current Qantas deals here

Foodworks

If you’re reading this on 31 October and forgot about Halloween, it’s not too late to grab some treats for tonight. Head on down to your local Foodworks store and take advantage of their catalogue specials.

For just $6, you can get two packs of famous brand confectionery from Allen’s, The Natural Confectionery Co and Pascall. That’s a saving of at least $4. Halloween lovers can also grab cauldron and pumpkin collection buckets for just $2, or some wacky Halloween headbands for just $4 each.

The bargains don’t end with Halloween, though. This week’s specials at Foodworks (on sale until next Tuesday 5 November) include 200g of Tasmanian Heritage Double Brie or Camembert cheese for $6, down 40 per cent on the regular price.

If hard cheese is more your thing, try the Tasmanian Heritage smoked Club Cheddar. The 140g pack has been knocked down to $5.95, a saving of $2.20.

And then there’s Connoisseur ice cream (marked down by 30 per cent), Schweppes soft drink varieties at 40 per cent off and Cold Power laundry liquid, also reduced by 40 per cent.

Check out the full Foodworks catalogue here.
