Deals of the Week – Jetstar her away for Mother’s Day

While there was some sad news this week, with budget airline Bonza revealing its financial woes, another airline is celebrating. Jetstar is marking its 20th birthday with a sale, just in time for Mother’s Day.

In case you hadn’t realised, Mother’s Day is just over a week away – next Sunday.

Have you spotted any good current deals? Let us know via the comments section below. A Jetstar flight could make the perfect present. But if that’s not Mum’s thing, how about some nice clothes from David Jones? Or a coffee machine? We’ve got all those options and more covered in this week’s deals.

Fly away with Jetstar

Take advantage of Jetstar’s 20th birthday sale by grabbing one of their ‘return for free’ birthday specials. Yes, Jetstar is offering a whole bunch of flights with a free return flight, depending on the one you choose.

The good news is these offers are applicable to flights from cities all over Australia, including all capitals, even Darwin and Canberra. There are also flights from Newcastle, Byron Bay, the Gold Coast, Cairns and even Margaret River.

There is one catch to this deal, though. This Jetstar 20th birthday deal ends at midnight tonight! Rushing into decisions isn’t always advisable, but securing a good Jetstar deal could make this an exception.

David Jones

If a getaway flight is not Mum’s thing, how about some nice clothes, attractive homewares, or maybe even a brand-new kitchen appliance? David Jones has all of these options covered and more.

Their Mother’s Day specials include 30 per cent off sleepwear and accessories from quality brands including Papinelle, Givoni and Nude Lucy. Or for winter, there are hats, gloves, scarves and more from Gregory Ladner, Milana and others, also at 30 per cent off.

If she’s more of a homewares person, David Jones has Esteele, Yves Delorme and other brands at 30 per cent off, or in some cases, even 40 per cent!

Or make it a really special Mother’s Day with a gift of a beautiful Kitchen Aid mixer (15 per cent off) or a coffee machine. The David Jones range of coffee machines includes several Breville models at up to 20 per cent off.

JB Hi-Fi

JB has indeed “done it again” for Mother’s Day, and its range of specials to mark the occasion also includes coffee machines. As well as Breville, JB is also offering markdowns on models from Nespresso and DeLonghi.

Heading out of the kitchen, JB has a wide variety of gifts to cater for almost any budget. At under $250, there’s a Kodak Pixpro FZ55 compact digital camera, Skullcandy Crusher Evo wireless over-ear headphones, a Sony HTS100F soundbar (with Bluetooth) and a Sony SRS XE-200 portable wireless speaker.

At the other end of the scale, at under $30, check out recent release movies on Blu-Ray and/or DVD, with titles including Anyone But You, The Holdovers, Barbie and Oppenheimer. Or for a bit of fun, try a Polaroid disposable film camera or a selection of ’80s trivia card games.
