Olympics-inspired health kick deals

If you love sports and curling up on the couch in winter, you might be feeling like me right now. That is, very tired. I have found myself heading to bed far later than I should, thanks to the Paris Olympics. I blame the brilliant efforts of athletes such as Jess Fox, Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O’Callaghan, Aussie gold medallists who have done Australia proud.

While I ‘blame’ them for keeping me up too late, I also thank them for inspiring me to reignite my health kick. I have returned to the gym and am paying closer attention to all aspects of my health.

If you’re similarly inspired, here are some deals that might help you take some steps towards better health.

Aussie Health Products

The folk at Aussie Health Products have grown the business into a  leading online health food store since launching in 2010. With a wide range of organic, allergy-free and healthy groceries, the store is  a great starting point for a healthy eating reset. What’s more, it has a regular list of specials and clearance items.

This week’s specials include a range of Nature’s Protein snack bags, with a great variety including Teriyaki Green Peas, Lightly Cooked and Seasoned Chickpeas and many others. Buying a 12-pack of these can save you up to $4 per order.

And for those aching joints (watching the Olympics is hard work!), Aussie Health Products has a range of powders and capsules to help make life just a little easier. Specials include High Strength Turmeric Superblend Instant Powder at just $23.95, a saving of $6 off the recommended retail price. Check out the other joint and arthritis specials here and the full range of current specials and clearance deals here.

Fitness First

If I can return to the gym as an unfit 59-year-old, then many other Aussies can too. Local gyms are great but if you’re looking out for an Australia-wide name brand, Fitness First could be a good option.

Fitness First’s Passport and Platinum memberships offer the added benefit of access to clubs in multiple locations. Right now Fitness First is offering a free trial that will allow you to try out their facilities before committing to membership. Check out the details here.

Chemist Warehouse clearance deals

Keep an eye on your blood pressure at home with the OMRON 7121 monitor, on sale at $114.99, almost $23 off the recommended retail price.

The pack includes:
