Minimal prep time is needed for these Honey Mustard Pork Chops. Serve with a salad or steamed vegetables to make a complete, wholesome meal. This recipe is easily halved if cooking for fewer people.
Serves: Four
Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup wholegrain mustard
- 1/3 cup white wine
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 4 loin chops (about 250g each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/3 cup cream
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
In a bowl large enough to fit your chops, mix together the honey, mustard, wine, garlic and thyme. Put in the chops, making sure to coat well. Season with salt and pepper. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a large, heavy-bottom frypan over medium-high heat. Place chops in preheated frypan, reserving the marinade. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove chops from pan, place on a plate and cover with foil.
Pour marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the liquid has been reduced by half. Stir in the cream and simmer for another 2 minutes until sauce has thickened.
Place chops on individual plates and drizzle over with the honey mustard sauce.
Serve with your choice of side – salad, veggies or mash potato.
