Malteser Brownies

Our Malteser Brownie is a naughty and decadent dessert but worth every delicious mouthful. It also stores well, so no need to eat it all in one go – that’s if you can resist.

Serves: 12

Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter, cut into pieces
  • 225g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Milo, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Maltesers

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line the bottom and sides of a 20cm square cake tin. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, then add the chocolate and stir over low heat until the chocolate has melted and is smooth. Stir in the sugar and Milo until combined.

Remove from the heat and stir in the eggs one at a time until smooth. Add the flour and stir for one minute, or until it becomes smooth. Fold in Maltesers and then pour the mixture into the prepared pan and sprinkle a small amount of Milo over the top. Bake for 30 minutes.

Let cool completely in the pan before lifting out the brownies. Slice into 12 equal pieces and enjoy.
