Salted Caramel Cake in a Cup

Salted caramel is a firm favourite when it comes to desserts. And once you’ve tried our simple Salted Caramel Cake, you’ll understand why.

Serves: 1

Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 4 tablespoons plain flour
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce, add salt to taste

Method

Put butter into mug and microwave until melted. Add egg and milk and lightly beat with a fork until combined. Add the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and beat with your fork until mixed through. Add a tablespoon of salted caramel to the top of the mixture and place mug in the microwave and cook for one minute on medium heat.

The cake should be risen and still slightly gooey in the middle. Drizzle the top with the second tablespoon of salted caramel.
