Ingredients
500 grams frozen puff (filo) pastry (8 pieces)
350 grams pork sausages
1 small onion, diced
1 egg, whisked
Pepper to taste
Method
Preheat oven to 200°C and grease a baking tray. Remove sausage meat from sausage skins and mix together with onion and pepper in a bowl. Divide the sausage mixture into eight equal parts, and form into logs the same length as the pastry sheets. Dampen the edges of the pastry with water and roll until the edges all meet. The sausage mixture should be totally encased in pastry except for the two ends. Place the rolls seam-side down on the baking tray and make slits along the top. Brush tops with whisked egg. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
