Do you see accidents at the same spot year after year?
Well, insurance company AAMI has released its blackspot report and it’s a state-by-state listing of all the common crash sites, types and most dangerous times on the road.
The company analysed more than 350,000 car insurance claims to find Australia’s most dangerous roads. Sydney’s worst is the Hume Highway in Liverpool, and for Queensland, Gympie Road was named twice, the Chermside stretch took first place and the Kedron stretch came in at No. 5.
Other first spots were Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick topped for the ACT, Plenty Road, Bundoora, Victoria, Prospect Road, Prospect, SA, Davey Street, Hobart, Tasmania, Albany Highway, Cannington, WA and the Stuart Highway, Adelaide River, NT.
In fact, the Stuart Highway is quite the overachiever, claiming the top four spots for the NT. It was also placed second for Alice Springs, third for Katherine and equal fourth for Pine Creek and Berrimah.
