Another bin, but what’s the point?

Another bin arrived at our place last week.
It replaces our general waste bin, but no one’s quite sure why. It’s supposed to standardise all the bins, and of course it’s smaller than our previous bin.
That brings us to three bins now, although I notice some councils are flagging a fourth bin. Okay if you’ve got a decent-sized yard I suppose. We don’t.
I wouldn’t mind all this palaver if I thought it was doing some good but only about 10 per cent of plastics are recycled. Where does the rest go? Buried in landfill.
Are you a dedicated separator for your bin? I try, but sometimes paper goes in the wrong bin, and I can’t be bothered fetching it out again.

I have 2 bins, general waste and recycling. I try to be careful in separating between the 2, but don’t really believe it makes any difference to what happens to the contents. But I’m playing my part. I don’t control the rest of the process.
