Finland has been named the world’s happiest nation for the sixth year in a row, according to the World Happiness Report, compiled by Gallup Poll.
Our next-door neighbour New Zealand managed to snag tenth position on the list, but Australia could only manage twelfth.
The list looked at factors such as GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity and corruption.
The report noted average happiness around the world remained mostly stable, even through the recent COVID pandemic years.
“Even during these difficult years, positive emotions have remained twice as prevalent as negative ones, and feelings of positive social support twice as strong as those of loneliness.”
