We know it’s important to brush and floss. But sometimes – maybe often – the dentist says you’re brushing too hard or too soft or not getting to the right spots.

There are electric toothbrushes and there are ‘smart’ electric toothbrushes. Maybe you want to ask Santa for one of these.

They are Oral B iO series 5 toothbrushes. One is $399 and the ‘budget’ version is a mere $299.
The toothbrushes link to a smartphone app that delivers live info on how you’re doing.

A reviewer writes: “After about 30 seconds I’m obedient to my new master, and I’ve had about several flashes of green, which in Oral B series 5 toothbrush language translates to good.

“Two minutes is the recommended brush time, but after a week I’m yet to get ‘perfect coverage’ in anything less than three. Once reached a little rainbow marks clean and sparkly gums.”

Sold? The costs could be recouped in fewer dental bills.
