Iconic dessert maker Sara Lee broke many hearts when it went into voluntary administration earlier this month.
But in good news for many, the Australian Financial Review is reporting there is “heavy interest” in Sara Lee from more than 40 potential buyers.
Vaughn Strawbridge from FTI Consulting, the firm appointed to oversee Sara Lee’s administration, told the AFR it seems likely the Sara Lee name will live on in Australia after all.
“We are running a sales process,” he says.
“We have had a huge amount of interest in the business.
“It’s been a good mix of local and international trade buyers, local manufacturers that own their own brands. And we’ve also got a good mix of financial investors who are interested as well.”
Are you happy Sara Lee might be sticking around?
