Apple has some bad news if you’re still using an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, or the original iPhone SE, whistleout reports.
Those devices won’t be getting the newly announced iOS 16, the updated iPhone operating system set to launch in September.
What does that mean?
Whistleout says: “In addition to missing out on new features, the move means the phones are unlikely to get any future security and stability updates after iOS 16 launches.
“Your phone will keep working, but the reality is the longer you are without mainline update support, the greater the chance an unresolved security flaw will turn up in your device.’
If you’ve got an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, you’re okay for now.
Do you hang onto your smartphone for as long as possible or upgrade regularly?

The reasons stated above, plus the exorbitant rip off prices of i-Phones, was why I stopped using them. I kept going with my ancient one until the day the hot spot function stopped working, then ditched it and swapped to a low cost more basic phone. I do miss some of the features of the i-Phone, but I won’t be made a victim of over priced technology. The one I have does everything I really need so I’ll stick with it for now. It still updates without fuss although the battery leaves a bit to be desired.

That is why Android phones are far superior to that Apple product

I beg to differ. An iPhone has far more capabilities and features; batteries also last much longer.

Keep away from iPhone. Androids are much better. Samsung (and Oppo now) make fantastic phones.

I love my Samsung J2 Pro, simple to use and doesn’t annoy me with continuous requests

Apple is built for those who have plenty of money. Yes they ,work well and should for the price. My wife wanted a tablet and with advice from the family decided on an Apple. After approx 5 years the tablet started to play up. Apple were not interested in trying to sort out the problem.
She is not computer literate and as I have used HP calculators, HP computers, HP printer since 1974 I let her go on the Ipad.
The only solution from Apple “buy a new one as it will have the bells and whistles”. No one could look at the original tablet in the Country. Try to get to Apple and put in passwords what a joke
Best move advice from Apple to buy a new one. Yes she brought an android tablet and no more apple. Does what she wants and no problems
