Fuel costs went through the roof last week – supposedly because of supply issues – so it makes sense to save wherever you can.
Older motorists in one state can say thanks to the government for extra savings at the petrol pump.
NSW Seniors Card and Senior Savers Card members can now save four cents per litre on fuel purchases at participating United service stations.
NSW Minister for Seniors Jodie Harrison said the new discount had been added to “the wealth of Seniors Card savings to help keep more money in seniors’ pockets and ease price pressure at the pump.”
Head of loyalty at United Petroleum Judith Russell says Seniors Card and Senior Savers Card members simply need to sign up for a United digital or plastic fuel discount card online to pocket the saving.
“Members then need to show and scan this United fuel discount card at the time of purchase at participating United service stations,” Ms Russell says.
“The discount can be used once a day for a purchase to a maximum of 150 litres in a single transaction.”
The NSW Seniors Card and Senior Savers Card are the largest programs of their kind in Australia and have been running for 31 years. See current discounts on the cards here.
