There’s a lot of sport on TV at the moment. If it’s not cricket, it’s tennis, nearly everywhere you turn. Soccer’s getting a good run, too.

That’s all well and good if you like sport (as I do), but what if you don’t? In summers past this might have been a problem, but thanks to free-to-air broadcasters running multiple channels, with even more content on their digital platforms, you need not succumb to watching a ball being hit or kicked.

And of course there’s a host of paid streaming platforms you can also indulge in. Many Aussies have been doing just that, with the Australian Netflix adaptation of Trent Dalton’s Boy Swallows Universe rating its socks off. And that’s not just hear in ‘Oz’. The show was the third most-watched English-language TV show globally in its second week.

It sounds like a show I’ll have to check out after my own summer of sports viewing ends.
But what about other shows. Is there anything good on free-to-air you would recommend? Are there further treats awaiting me on Stan, Binge or Disney Plus?
