Canstar Blue has once again named Aldi its best rated supermarket and it’s the seventh year in a row for the German-based giant.

Canstar surveyed just over 2600 Australians on topics including customer satisfaction, value for money, freshness of produce, value for money, checkout experience and specials.

Canstar says it’s like “asking hundreds of your closest mates which supermarket they think is best”.

Aldi scored five stars in overall satisfaction, freshness of produce, checkout experience, specials, store layout and quality of own-brand products.

“Aldi Australia’s low price points and alternative brand and product options have made it a popular choice with Aussie shoppers, who flock to the aisles for fruit and vegetables, meat and seafood, snacks, frozen foods, cleaning supplies, and of course, Aldi’s coveted Special Buys sales, which have amassed a cult following,” Canstar stated in its notes on the survey.

Our second favourite was Woolworths, followed by IGA and Coles came in last, and did not in fact manage one five star rating across the categories.

Do you agree? What’s your favourite supermarket and why?
