Getting home to find a slip of paper informing you that you’ve missed a package delivery will soon be a thing of the past, as Australia Post announced on its Facebook page it was making the move to digital delivery slips.

Australia Post says the move was prompted by ears of complaints about illegible handwriting on the slips making them useless.

An Australia Post spokesperson clarified to news.com.au the digital notification system is being rolled out for customers with an account for the service’s online portal, My Post.

“Customers who don’t have a My Post account will continue to receive paper cards as usual,” the spokesperson said.
“The new digital notifications will reduce paper waste while providing customers with increased convenience, reliability and the flexibility to plan their parcel pick up when they’re away from home.”

Are you ok with a move to digital delivery slips from Australia Post?

Im surprised this is regarded as new. We have had text and email advice from AusPost of deliveries for the past approximately two years. It seems to be an integral part of the tracking system.

What is annoying is when you are home and they don’t even bother to try and contact you (too lazy!) – sometimes the parcel is big and local post office is too far to walk and collect.

Australia Post says the move was prompted by ears of complaints

I am glad they are “listening” to their “ears of complaints”!
