Many in the southern states had a pretty mild spring, so summer has hit us like a tonne of bricks. I saw a man yesterday the colour of tomatoes and I know of one poor girl with diabetes who had to go into hospital because her nasty sunburn had affected her insulin figures.
SA Health has even issued a warning as it experiences a ‘spike’ in treating severe sunburn at the state’s hospitals, including at least a dozen children.
And regardless of any short-term pain, it puts you at risk of skin cancer in the long term. Be careful out there.
What was your worst case of sunburn?
