Knitting is having something of a renaissance lately and everyone from 20-somethings to grannies are picking up the craft or coming back to it as the case may be.
But as any keen crafter knows, supplies can be expensive. However the National Library of Australia (NLA) has made hundreds of vintage knitting patterns available for free.
If you are keen to start looking you can start on the NLA’s digitised record Trove.
I found a pattern for a ‘cosy knitted brassiere’ which makes me itch just thinking about it, but I’m sure there are more worthy projects.
Have you taken up knitting? Would you try a vintage pattern?
