Have you been shamed for this fashion faux pas?

It was recently brought to my attention that Gen Z has a problem with the types of socks a lot of us older folks are wearing.

Apparently, the easiest way to tell if someone is a millennial or older is if they are wearing ankle socks. Remember them? The little white (well usually white) cotton numbers that sit just above the top of your shoes. They’re perfect for when you’re wearing shorts.

But Gen Z doesn’t want a bar of them, preferring instead to slip on the longer crew sock, which goes a good portion of the way up your calf above your shoe. Not a great look I don’t think.

I must admit it got my back up a bit, as I’m definitely someone who wears ankle socks, particularly when exercising. Does that really mark me as old?

Have you been shamed by the youngins for your socks? What about any other fashion advice from the kids?

I can’t say I’ve been openly shamed about my socks (yes, I do wear them) or my attire in general although a few have probably thought “what’s she wearing?”. What surprises me is that they wouldn’t like ankle ticklers so they can show off their ankle tatt’s, their calf tatt’s, their shin tatt’s to full advantage. Just saying
