New research reveals that nearly half (48 per cent) of Australians aged 60-plus have set their sights on taking up a new hobby in 2024.
New sporting hobbies are particularly high on the list, according to the Amazon Australia research, with one in three keen to take up a new sport this year. One in 10 wants to try Pilates or yoga, while those with a more adventurous bent would like to try skydiving and pole dancing.
Beyond adrenaline-pumping activities, one in seven (16 per cent) older Australians is eyeing a tech hobby, with some planning to fly drones, create content for social media or try their hand at coding.
The research also highlights that it’s never too late to learn a musical instrument, with one in 20 older Aussies planning to start a musical hobby and many intending to take up the electric guitar.
