An interesting opportunity has opened up for people much more academically inclined than me, to reshape Australia’s healthcare system and improve access for all older Australians.
The federal government, through the National Health and Medical Research Council, is offering grants worth up to $19 million to initiatives that will improve access to healthcare for older people, particularly those living in remote or low-socioeconomic areas.
Now, if you happen to be a doctor or scientist with a breakthrough idea, then by all means, apply here.
But we’d like to know how you would spend the $19 million. Should we improve access to GPs? Or improve mental health services for older people. We want to know what you think.
