The Reserve Bank of Australia has announced that $1 billion in physical cash has left the Australian economy as we slowly move towards a cash-free economy.
I don’t know about you, but I still make a point of using cash.
For bigger purchases, yes of course I’m going to use a card or bank transfer, but if I want to buy a few rolls for my lunch, then it seems ridiculous to tap a card for a few dollars.
Maybe people are also gone back to stashing cash under the mattress as the amount of data breaches seems to increase every day. The thought of someone getting into my bank account and draining all the cash out sends shivers down my spine.
Do you still use cash? Why are you still hanging on to banknotes and coins?
