Have you heard much about the FIFA Women’s World Cup?
Yeah, me neither. Media coverage is starting to ramp up now, but let’s face it, I can’t imagine if Australia won the right to host the men’s world cup it would be keeping such a low profile.
Have a think about it, do you even know when it starts? It’s July by the way.
I’d hate to think it was the media being lazy, or dare I say even sexist, but the public demand is out there because the organisers have already had to move one match to a larger venue as the first venue sold out so quickly. They are also expecting 100,000 fans to the opening ceremony.
I’d love to go – to see Sam Kerr in action would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience – but sadly there’s not a lot of games in Melbourne.
