Got a bit of time on your hands and love adorable Australian animals? Wombat walking may be for you.

East Coast Natureworld is looking for people to take their wombats on a morning waddle.

As a wombat walker you will be helping to keep the wombats fit and healthy on their morning excursions. A cute, furry commute, if you like. East Coast Natureworld says it’s the favourite part of the day, and will probably be yours too.

      You will be required to:
Get them out of bed, they like a lie-in
Encourage them on their walk with pep talks
Keep them on the right track as they like to wander off
Ensure decorum and good behaviour as they like to chase birds and distract other animals
Feed them snacks so they don’t get angry

This an unpaid position is for one day only but Discover Tasmania will pay for flights, two nights’ accommodation and a basketfull of Tasmanian goodies to take home.

The job is part of Odd Jobs, a uniquely Tasmanian experience designed to shake you by the shoulders and take you out of your comfort zone.

The only animal I’m not fond of are crocs and even then I appreciate their place in the world even though I dont like them.
How does it work to apply for a Discover Tasmania day. Wombats are so cute, fat and I hope cuddly. Although it sound like they definitely have an opinion of their own. Would love to spend the day with one and I have several friends who would be interested as well.
