It’s summer and that means people are out on the water.
Please can everyone take care out there this year? Last summer had a record number of drownings across Australia, with 145 people dying in our waters.
It’s tragic for everyone involved, not just the families but also for the first responders. I know a former policeman who gave up a much-wanted career after having to deal with two drownings in a matter of weeks.
If humans and water don’t mix, humans, alcohol and water definitely don’t mix. Always play it safe this summer and stay out of the water if you have had a few drinks.
