A recall has been issued for Bio Living International’s gluten-free range of baked of goods due to the “presence of foreign matter”. It’s understood the offending matter is plastic.

The recall is for the following Bio Living International products:

Gluten Freedom Broken Black Rice & Polenta Sourdough Bread with best before dates between 17 February 2024 up to and including 9 March 2024

Gluten Freedom Everything Sourdough Bagels with best before dates spanning 1 March 2024 to 12 March 2024

Gluten Freedom Splendid Sourdough English Muffins with best before dates between 17 February 2024 up to 9 March 2024.

The products have been available for sale at IGA, independent grocery stores and independent food retailers in NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC, TAS, SA, NT, WA.

If consumed, food products containing plastic may cause illness or injury. Food Standards Australia New Zealand advises consumers not to eat the products and should return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.

Anybody who has already consumed these products and is concerned about their health is advised to seek medical advice immediately.
