When you think fast food, you generally think unhealthy food items that are high in sodium and sugar and low in nutrients. And we have an obesity epidemic running rampant across the planet.
Yet we’re about to ‘welcome’ another fast food chain to Australia.
US giant Wendy’s has announced plans to roll out “hundreds” of stores in Australia in the not-too-distant future.
Chief development officer Abigail Pringle says she’s convinced there’s an appetite for the chain’s signature burgers, fries and frosty desserts Down Under.
Of course she’s convinced. Just think of the money.
“We believe Australia is a lucrative market for long-term growth,” said Ms Pringle. “We think that the Australian market could be hundreds of restaurants.”
What’s your appetite for another fast food chain? Given there’s a push to add a warning sign to unhealthy products, should the same apply to fast food advertising?
