Aussie super model Elle Macpherson claims she has meditated her cancer away, amongst other natural therapies

However, like anything these days, the internet has done some digging and found that Macpherson actually had a lumpectomy on a tiny tumour and all the natural therapies were later.

It seems surprising Macpherson didn’t think this would come out. Unfortunately if you are in the public eye, you can pretty much expect the internet to trawl through your background regardless of the topic

Should celebrities expect some privacy? Or is that the price they pay for fame?

Her cancer was not malignant so was never a threat to her life only her looks as her breasts became lumpy. She had the lumps surgically removed and then reportedly claimed a natural cure.
While I am sure that meditation and natural treatments helped her feel better they did not cure her cancer.

If there are any concerns about any part of our body, we should go to a doctor & get professional advice and follow their instructions.
Medication-surgery etc helps with everything – that is why they exist.
If what Elle has done has helped here – congrats but do not try & suggest that people should follow the lead of a person rather than a medical professional.

Sallyp, with respect, you must be kidding if you think a doctor has all the answers to any concern about any part of our body.

Perhaps not “a” doctor. You wouldn’t expect one doctor to have all the answers. But across a whole team you will find the expert assistance and care you need.
Sallyp is correct – trust the science.

Smiity, would you go to a gardener to fix your car? Of course not, so why go to a non medical person for advice on a medical matter?

Let’s get this right, she has written her biography and is now peddling her book. What a way to start up the conversation about having breast cancer. I saw one interview about this, so could not be bothered watching 60 minutes last night. Everyone should seek medical advice, but you can also use holistic approaches combined with medical science. There are doctors now who actually combine the two. But the first port of call is to actually get a medical diagnosis and the rest can follow depending what your needs are.
