Australians are receiving welcome and timely cash back payments as health insurers return millions of COVID savings to members.
HCF announced in September it would be giving back $130 million in pandemic-related savings to its 1.8 million customers. Now, those payments are going out.
Members can expect to receive the payment before Christmas and the amount will be dependent on the level of cover.
About 3.4 million Bupa customers were also set to receive $155 million in cashback payments from October, with individual payments of between $16 and $118 depending on each policy.
Payback amounts will also vary from state to state, depending on how severely the area was affected by the pandemic.
“We recognise that customers in NSW and Victoria, due to strict government lockdowns, were more significantly impacted in their ability to use their policy,” Bupa said in a statement.
