Fruit and vegies cheaper – and better – at this supermarket, poll finds
We love customer awards, so long as they’re impartial, as they can help shoppers get value for money.
Comparison site Canstar Blue has released its latest customer awards and Aldi has taken out the top spot for supermarket fruit and vegetables for a second consecutive year.
Customers voted across five categories: value for money, freshness, variety, presentation and overall satisfaction.
IGA finished in second place with four or five stars for each category, followed by Woolworths and Coles which notched up between three and five stars.
Both IGA and Woolworths gained top points for fruit and vegetable variety.
Jordan Lack, buying director of fruit and vegetables at Aldi, said 97 per cent of produce came from Australian growers.
Do you shop around for fruit and vegies? Do you go to farmers’ markets?

Is this survey a National survey or mainly in NSW and Victoria?

Here in South Australia we have some wonderful independent supermarket chains.

One, has on a few occasions won International Awards for their produce and service.

The best and freshest fruit and veges are those that you grow yourself!
