Sometimes all you need is a spoonful after dinner (or lunch). Other times you need a bowl full. And perhaps topped with favouring or nuts. I’m talking ice-cream. These are the top 10 ice cream tubs, according to a Canstar Blue survey. Maybe it’s time you broke out of your usual purchase?

Golden North, a South-Australian made and owned product, took out the gold. Flavours include classic vanilla, salted caramel, boysenberry, chocolate as well as some sorbet flavours. It was rated five stars for overall satisfaction, value for money, taste, variety and range, packaging convenience and texture and consistency.

Second and third were Peters Original and Bulla.

Aldi Monarc was fourth and my personal favourite Connoisseur (vanilla please) fifth.

Taking the next five places were Blue Ribbon, Coles home brand, Ben & Jerry’s, Woolworths home brand and Häagen-Dazs.

Do you agree with those ratings?

Interesting that Ben and Jerry’s and Häagen-Dazs are rated so lowly, considering how expensive they are.
I am with you with Connoisseur, but I love Café Grande. I also love the Coles home brand, Rum and Raisin flavour.
