A bathroom cleaning product sold in Bunnings stores has been recalled.
Product Safety Australia (PSA) says there’s a potential problem with the caps on the bottles of 1.2-litre bottles of Drano Max Gel bathroom drain cleaner made by SC Johnson & Son.
“The cap of bottles may not seal the bottle properly and result in product leakage,” PSA says in the official recall notice. “Leakage may be found near the cap and on the outside of the bottle.”
PSA says there’s a risk of plus severe skin burns and irritation to eyes and breathing. Also, young children or pets might be able to ingest the fluid.
The affected bottles of Drano are sold in an orange container. They have a batch code 664154 (located on the bottle neck) and the universal product code of 9300622003658. The use-by date is October 2024.
Anyone who has the product at home is urged to stop using it immediately and wear gloves if handling the product.
Further information is available from SC Johnson & Son on 1800 801 869 (9am to 6pm Monday to Friday).
