In honour of Vegemite’s 100th anniversary, a limited edition series of $2 coins have been launched in partnership with Woolworths and the Royal Australian Mint. These Vegemite-branded coins are obtainable exclusively at Woolworths stores all over the country.
The coins, which were created by Aaron Baggio, feature three different designs, each showcasing an illustration that pays tribute to the iconic Australian spread. The coins have a distinct coloured ring in the centre, reminiscent of Vegemite’s recognisable red, black and yellow branding.
One coin depicts a Vegemite jar with the words “100 Mitey Years” inscribed at the base, another has an image of Vegemite toast with the phrase “Tastes like Australia,” and the third features a child eating Vegemite toast with the phrase “Happy Little Vegemites.” All coins have the phrase “Vegemite Centenary” engraved at the bottom.
