The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has released in long-range forecast for winter, and is predicting warmer than usual weather for most of the country.
“Australia is very likely to have temperatures that are higher than usual for this time year,” the BOM says.
“This follows an autumn that was warmer than usual for most parts of Australia and brought very dry conditions to the far south of the country and south-west Western Australia.”
Along with warmer temperatures, the BOM is also predicting above average winter rainfall for some regions, including parts of North West and North East pastoral districts in South Australia, parts of central-west Western Australia, the North Tropical Coast and south-west of Queensland and also far north-western New South Wales.
A warmer winter sounds nice, but let’s hope that excess rain doesn’t cause any more flooding.
