So, the dust has settled on yet another US presidential election campaign, with Donald Trump emerging victorious for the second time.

The result has been … controversial … to say the least. But the truth is it would have caused consternation on either side of the aisle if the opposite candidate had won.

Depending on your outlook, this is the shot in the arm America and the world needed, or the potential beginning of the end of liberal Western democracy.

Whatever your politics, we want to know what you thought about how the US election played out?

I said right at the beginning when the democrats picked Harris. America was not ready for a woman president and especially not a coloured one. Americans are mostly locked in a mindset. Trump knows this and how they think. That’s why he says all the things he says. He knows most Americans are religious hence the abortion rule. He knows they are struggling, so he promises them a better life. He knows they are racist. They just had a black leader, they won’t do it again. Even the new immigrants blame the illegals for everything. The men don’t want a woman president, neither do half the women. They see a woman as weak. Trump (although all about himself) was clearly the stronger leader. The democrats could have had this with a better choice of a leader. It wasn’t Trump they voted for so much, it was not to have Harris. So now Trump thinks they love him, and he can do whatever he wants, another Putin in the making?

      Interesting-concerning-?????
Am in the position of not being an American nor American resident but ….
USA is one of our allies – in the sense of defence & protection it is quite likely we would need help-assistance from USA in the event of a significant world conflict. Am not sure where we sit with Trump – not sure where anyone sits with Trump.
From a trade point of view – this could be disastrous for Australia. We do produce some goods here, e.g. wine, and USA is a good export market. Businesses will get affected & will have to start, now, rethinking their marketing and trade for their products etc. It will be a long hard slog of research, marketing etc. around the world – e will need to start opening new doors or enlarging existing ones.
It is a little concerning about where this will take Australia and how much impact it will have on us

Hopefully a sensible energy policy based in the real world. CO2 does not drive climate change. (See DR John Nicol) . Maybe drop net zero and bye-bye Bowen. Recover Australia’s energy industry, manufacturing industry and standard of living. Big dream..but we need it!!!

Very relieved. Harris was a puppet for the global masters who are doing so much harm. Americans have voted for a return to common sense and practicality – and for a leader who is NOT a career politician, but understands the real world.
It speaks volumes that he won the support of people earning under $100K, married men, unmarried men, married women, Negroes, Muslims, Mexicans (legal immigrants)… while Harris was supported by celebrities (who don’t live in the real world) and the media (who have no idea!)
Trump is a bit of a wild card in many ways, but he is supported by a very smart team and he promises an end to globalization, wokeism, and radical left-wing policies that have done so much harm. Queenslanders have also turned their backs on the radical left wing and voted for a return to law and order, sensible economic management, and sensible and affordable energy policies… Let’s hope we see a similar result in the next Federal election.

How can we trust a nation that chose to have as its head of government a person, a known felon, liar, cheat, conman, thief and woman assaulter? I’m sorry America has sunk to the lowest level of a third world nation. Should he decide to visit either the UK or Australia, both of which do not grant visas to people of criminal and low character will our governments have the guts to ban him

Trump, the billionaire, understands “the real world”? Haha!

After reading some comments here, I was compelled to reply. For starters, I am thrilled that Trump is finally back. I have followed him since 2016. Regardless of the endless uncalled-for jokes which he does not deserve, he is a good man and cares deeply for his country. Despite the fact he is a millionaire and could have been enjoying a very lavish lifestyle, he was concerned about the way his country was going. The deep state (including democrats) had taken control of everything and America was going down a very dark path. eg. child trafficking for one example. All these people loved Donald Trump until he decided to run for president. He declared he was going to clean up the deep state and their control, so then they hated him and did everything to get rid of him. All the crap they invented was to take him down. All the stories and court cases which, you have to question why they decided to charge him for, could have been done years before but they just wanted to stop him being a candidate. All the stuff you heard about him was all lies concocted by the democrats to stop him from running again. They are so powerful with deep pockets, to pay off judges, witnesses etc. Fortunately, the american public have begun seeing through the bullshit court cases etc and realised he was being targeted to take him down. The previous comment here from someone saying Trump is a felon, liar, cheat, conman, thief and woman assaulter, proves how the people have been sucked into all the lies. People with any intelligence can see how he has been endlessly victimised. That person would have to be a democrat to believe all the lies. The fact he has been re-elected shows that the people have finally realised how good their lives were in his past term and seen through the lies and torment they’ve put him through.
