The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics is just days away, and our athletes will be making their way to the French capital as we speak, if they’re not there already.
To make sure our team is in tip-top condition, the Australian Olympic Committee is sending along a few creature comforts from home – including a ready supply of Vegemite, Weet-Bix, Milo and Four’n’Twenty pies to keep our lot satisfied.
But perhaps most importantly, we’re also sending along a trio of baristas along to keep them fuelled with flat whites and lattes. You’d think the athletes would be fine in the home of the French press and the café, but we’re a nation of coffee snobs – and we need it done right.
What indulgence would you bring from home if you were an Olympic athlete? I think I’d like an on-site fish’n’chip shop, although that probably wouldn’t get the green light.
