Agoda’s Travel Bugbears Survey 2023 found Australian travellers ranked invasion of their personal space, passing wind and stinky socks as their top in-flight annoyances.

Those lead flight delays and sitting next to a crying baby.

Across 10 countries Aussies ranked least sensitive to rowdy passengers.

Covering 10 Asia-Pacific markets, the survey found discourteous invasion of personal space the number one pet peeve for fliers.

Flight delays rank high across the board, coming in second on the list of passengers’ grievances.

The third biggest in-flight annoyance is loud passengers – overly chatty ‘seatmates’, couples airing their dirty laundry in public, or raucous groups broadcasting their music or games across the entire flight

For me, it’s drunken blokes talking too loud and being idiots.

What about you, what drives you bonkers when flying?

Flying Jetstar on a domestic route is a bit of a nightmare unless you absolutely don’t want to move. And don’t think about putting down your traytable unless you are very tiny. I’ll admit that I am definitely not tiny, but the leg room is even less than minimal I feel. Luckily it was a very short flight so I’d probably do it again, because the price was definitely right, and it was the only airline offering a direct flight.
