There appears to be a trend on social media to show off your perfectly designed pantry.
When did we come to this?

Apparently there is a huge movement out there to have everything matchy-matchy, lined up in a row and all sparkling clean all preferably in a impressively large walk-in pantry.

It all sounds a like a bit of a show-off and not surprisingly has garnered a bit of a backlash, with one social commentator calling it a ‘status symbol of the rich’.

While I can admire such pantries, I will never be among their number. My pantry is a jumbled collection of whatever storage items fit the ingredient and quite often some packaging is held together with nothing more than an elastic band.

I’m reminded of tidying guru Marie Kondo, who has admitted she has largely given up on her life of a neat freak since she had kids.

Is this what’s happening with these pantries? People have nothing better in their lives?
What’s the state of your pantry?
