There was news this week that the median house price in Sydney has hit $1.6 million.
That’s simply ridiculous.
What young couple starting out with a HECS debt and maybe wanting to live on one income for a while when babies come along can afford $1.6 million.
Sydney will soon become an enclave of the rich and elite only. And that’s not good. Service industry staff will be priced out of ever buying a home in Sydney.
You need teachers, police officers, waiters and cleaners and all the people with everyday jobs to make a society work.
The housing industry needs a severe shake-up.
