The new airline Bonza is promising to charge as close as it can to $50 per hour flying time, but the devil is in the details, because airline executives have hinted there will be charges for baggage and credit card fees. Credit card fees are particularly galling as there are almost no avenues to pay cash for travel these days.
While there will be flights leaving Melbourne, Bonza is promising to service mostly regional destinations the big airlines ignore such as Mildura to the Gold Coast or Whitsunday Coast and Newcastle.
I predict the early flights will be popular, but sustaining such flights between low-population destinations may not be a long-term thing.
Will you be taking a gamble on a low cost flight?
