I was pretty hyped about the Women’s World Cup, right up until I realised how many games I couldn’t watch.

I can’t believe the number of games are behind a paywall. This is a world-wide event being held in Australia and we are being fed a trickle of games.

Thankfully at least all the Australian games are being broadcast free to air, but I don’t think I’m alone in the fact that like many people I want to watch this historic world cup in all its glory, not just teensy bits here and there.

Like everything to do with FIFA, someone, somewhere will be getting a lot of money while the fans lose out.

Are you disappointed with the World Cup coverage?

I cannot believe how the Australian public has been treated by our TV Broadcasting Corporation and FIFA. Everything is just Money, Money, and more money please. The visiting World Teams taking part in the World Cup, well just mention them here and there and she’ll be right mate. Apparently, the only thing we need to know is all about Sam Kerr’s calf and totally ignore the other teams. And above all, how dare they beat US. Well I am sure Australia will not be remembered for it’s hospitality. They should look across the ditch and learn how it should be done.

Australia used to have a law that meant almost all high profile sporting events were available on free to air TV, this was changed to allow pay TV operators to bid for anything and only a minority of events had to be available on free to air. All of the games in this world cup are available on pay TV channels.

Nope. It’s just soccer after all.
