I hope we won’t be dishing out dole and disability payments to those suffering long Covid who were too selfish to get vaxed and wear a mask. Too much to wish for!
VikingMemberWe have worn masks in all public places and group meetings since 2020 and are often the only ones to be doing so. Since Australia made N95 masks have been available we feel more confident wearing these rather than the Chinese stuff.
Around ten times as many people are dying from Covid-19 as are dying from road accidents yet our government’s and police strictly enforce the seat belt mandate but are too chicken to mandate masks. The fact that the majority of Covid deaths are amongst the elderly suggest a high degree of ageism in this lack of mandatory action.
29 June 2022 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Supermarkets’ infuriating tactic to get you to spend more #1712300VikingMemberI think the store reorganisation backfires because if I can’t find articles where I expect them to be and I have to search for several products I’m more likely to leave the supermarket without items I intended to buy.
My pet hate in Woollies is the minute text size of the names and country of origin of fish on the labels which then have to be read through a frosted up glass counter. Why display fish in a glass case when we can’t distinguish what we are looking at?
VikingMemberPlan B, you can add to the LNP’s “strong on defence and national security” a ten year delay in ordering submarines, a $5billion wasted cancellation fee and now we don’t know who will build our anatomic subs, where they will be built, when they will be delivered and at what cost? On that basis I live in $10 million mansion, with a private plane and yacht. One of the ports being considered for base for these phantom subs is Newcastle, leased to the Chinese. Should we be entrusting our defence to these arrogant goons?
VikingMemberLet’s hope China can wait at least another 20 years to allow time for the LNP to make up its mind on which submarines we’re going to use against them. It’s only taken them eight years and three different subs to arrive at a position of no manufacturer, no price and no delivery date. Let’s just hope the Chinese are patient.
If I recall it was the lack of a price which has prevented many in the LNP from committing to a carbon reduction policy, principles and consistency are obviously optional for the LNP!
If China is the enemy Morrison purports it to be, how can he and the LNP justify having no submarines on order and waiting 20 years for delivery when we eventually do?
Out of interest the French nuclear powered subs cost them around €1.3 billion each to build in France but we were budgeting around $7,5 billion (€4.65) each to build oil fired subs locally, go figure!
When the man whose vision only extended to declaring ”coal is the future’ is now ordering atomic submarines, we all have cause for concern.
