BakkaParticipant
People have had a gut full of youth crime, no matter who perpetrates it and NT voters clearly expressed that at the ballot box.
Unfortunately due to so many years of soft approach kid glove polices ,the fix will be a very complex and a difficult challenge.
However they have a mandate and must push back against the woke social do gooders and snivel libertarians .
Remember , the devastating and traumatic effects on victims of crime is the same , no matter how old the perpetrator.
One final comment: Why is it that I can safely walk the streets of Singapore at any time of day or night without fear…but I can no longer do this in my own country…who is responsible for that situation.BakkaParticipantThis is another knee jerk idiot brain fart from Albo with typically no idea of the facts or consequences involved.
I should know because we ( wife and myself) did this for 3 years and while it was great living OS the reality is what happens longer term.
You loose your Residency Tax Status with all that goes with it…even worse if you run your own SMSF. Medical cover ( both OS and back in AUS) can be problematic. Disconnection from family band loved ones are issues for some .
Yes for some it’s great but for enough of us to free up that many houses it would frighten the daylight out of them once the initial honeymoon is over.BakkaParticipantDV in Australia is a national crisis ( along with crime in general) Unfortunately we have let this situation develop unchecked and did not push back against those who successfully lobbied for looser standards and so called rights of offenders.
Additionally , the judiciary are major contributors to this deterioration along with the likes of The Law Society and other “Snivel Liberations “
The judiciary need to understand that the separation of powers should not be taken for granted and they, like the rest of society must be held accountable for their actions , or lack of.BakkaParticipantThe personality of the leader does resonate with the electorate in my option and Morison is one of the least popular. However I would not write him off just yet.
Albo is totally untried and untested as yet. Also we face the most difficult and dangerous times ahead for many years , especially on the geopolitical and economic front. Now I want a tough, experienced, resilient leader to front these problems, not necessarily one who wants to occupy the popularity stakes.
Albo will now have to face the same scrutiny that Morrison has been subject to ( well not quite by the media) so lets see how he preforms before he gets my vote.
