Yes, they should pay back all the money over & above their daily meal allowance! When I was working for the state public service, we had a meal allowance for lunch, dinner, etc. while I was travelling on government business. This allowance I considered to be quite generous, but nowhere like what they’re running up today! Mind you, I don’t drink alcohol, so this might explain a goodly proportion of the bill!
disillusionedParticipantIt seems to me that the “big” supermarkets are great at promoting discounts on “unhealthy” products, such as potato crisps, sweets, & biscuits, while raising the prices of “healthy” food such as vegetables, meat, etc. I wonder if, by doing this, these supermarkets are in fact part of the cause of the “obesity” epidemic gripping the western world?
disillusionedParticipantWhy is it mainly those who don’t have children that are advocating for others to have more of them? Maybe the Pope could set up a fund to help defray expenses associated with child-raising?
disillusionedParticipantI loathe the numerous Allcastle Homes & Antiques Roadshow ads that proliferate during the show “Murder, She Wrote”. They both seriously grate! Fortunately I have a remote & can switch over to ch 94, to watch “House Hunters International” or ch 16, the shopping channel, for the 5 minutes’ duration of these, & other, equally annoying ads. The other ads I detest are the “National Tiles” ads on radio, I can’t stand Frank Walkers voice, & the singing blinds ad, “Isn’t it a lovely day”? I turn straight onto the ABC instead!
disillusionedParticipantThere was a politician in Queensland years ago who was laughingly referred to as “The Minister for Everything”. I think that title should now go to Scomo, who wasn’t going to be outdone on those ego stakes! Shame he didn’t put the same amount of enthusiasm into getting us the vaccine when it was offered by Pfizer to his LNP government back in June 2020 instead of bunging on his “it’s not a race” rant, & delaying the whole procedure for over 6 months!
