HOLAMember
Thanks Suze – I’m a tough old bird and I’m starting to feel a little better. It’s impossible to ring any Doctor at the medical centre I attend, it’s always engaged or a recorded message to say to “hang on and somebody will be with you shortly”, nobody ever comes back. They also say “If it’s an emergency to ring 000” . Even the Chemist shop said they are notorious for that. So no anti virals, I’ll get there eventually.
HOLAMemberThanks for the advise Lizzy. I did another RAT test on Thursday and it’s come back POSITIVE. I’m now in isolation for the next 7 days. I think I’m over the worst of it but had to shop Coles online as my cupboard is looking rather bare. Wear masks people.
HOLAMemberI haven’t been outside the house since Monday. I must admit I wasn’t wearing a mask on Sunday but by 3pm. I started feeling very unwell with a runny nose and burning throat. Couldn’t sleep that evening although I took some Panadol. Got up the next morning at 3am feeling lousy and took a Covid Test only one line appeared. I have now been through 2 boxes of tissues, the point I was getting to is my Doctor talked me into have a Flu vaccine. I have never had one before but I reckon I have the Flu.

My Ups and Downs. #1714333HOLAMemberThanks Toot – I’ll be fine in a couple of days. I did get the Flu vaccine last week as well. Looks like masks are back in fashion, I don’t mind wearing one in the supermarkets .

My Ups and Downs. #1714331HOLAMemberHi Celia – I don’t know where the Private Health Insurance get their figures from. Pensioners are so lucky not having to pay for any special treatment. The last 3 surgeries I had were totally free. I just had my 4th Covid vaccine Pfizer. After a couple of days I noticed my arm had started to swell with a very large patch of pink around it. The swelling has now come down to the elbow so I decided to go back to the Doctor to show him. He immediately put me on antibiotics to take for a week. He showed me photos of some patients who had a much worse reaction than mine, one photo showed the whole arm blood red and the other photo showed an arm black and blue . So I urge anyone who has a bad reaction to go and have a check up.
HOLAMemberHa ha ha!!!
HOLAMemberGood one RnR – Suze – know exactly what you mean, nothing worse that trying to find the start of the toot roll and GladWrap when you cant find the edge either.

My Ups and Downs. #1714324HOLAMemberMy husband was one of 12 children. When he was 6 and his brother 8 they both came down with Diphtheria and were admitted to hospital. Sadly his brother died and my husband survived. His poor parents were devastated and were fearful the other children might have got it as well but the others remained clear.
29 June 2022 at 3:24 pm in reply to: Supermarkets’ infuriating tactic to get you to spend more #1712301HOLAMemberI asked one of the girls working in Coles, why are the products being moved about the store ,and she said it was because it stops thieves walking in and taking goods they were familiar with being in the same spot. I have now learned to look at the end of the aisles to see hanging on hooks lists where the groceries I am interested in. can be found.

HOLAMemberIf Camilla wore Black undies it wouldn’t have shown up.
HOLAMemberHi Cats, So good to see you back at YLC, hope you are well.
HOLAMemberAxel – I got a letter from the Motor Registry office when I turned 74 . They sent out a form which had to be signed by my Doctor and Eye specialist stating I am still capable to hold a driving license.
HOLAMemberMy Sister in Victoria who is going on 82 in September said they never have to do a Fitness Test to hold a Driver’s License. Here in N.S.W. we have to do the Eye Test and a Doctor’s examination, but never had to stand on one leg and do the Hokey Pokey. Plus the eye test is free. Unfortunately this has to be done every year now .
HOLAMemberHa ha ha, That’s what my Husband used to say.
HOLAMemberHa Ha Ha, love all of them.
HOLAMemberI think the Queen is a very smart lady not allowing photos of her with baby Lily. She could see the writing on the wall by Harry and Co using this to their advantage..
HOLAMemberThose cobbled stones don’t look very safe for wearing high heels.
