The end of gas would be a very good thing. Far better to cook with than electricity, however that’s where it ends. Gas is a very dangerous commodity. It can destroy/level homes unit blocks leisure boats etc. As Australia has a seemingly endless supply of coal and as Australia puts out 0.0 something emissions in comparison to the rest of the world, China, India, USA, the list goes on, (leave out per capita, the greatest nonsense of statistics gathering under the sun) coal powered generators should be kept in action until far cheaper alternative can be found in the future. The city of New York, Yes A Single City, is responsible for more pollution than whole of Australia a Country. Do your sums, you are being Hoodwinked. If you wish to save the Earth, deal with the real problem, overpopulation, that’s the greatest problem this planet needs to address. Jacka.
8 June 2023 at 8:48 am in reply to: Coles blasted for latest price hike to a grocery favourite #1803071JackaParticipantFirstly it’s not exactly strawberry season. Secondly if you walk into any supermarket and they want to charge exorbitant prices for anything you walk out, ring up head office and make a complaint. It more than likely it won’t make any difference and they’ll try to put some spin it, like a politician, but at least you have the satisfaction of knowing you tried to do something for the good of all. That’s it, Jacka.
JackaParticipantHow he got the gig in the first place all those years ago is still beyond me. I think it’s a case of go before you’re tapped on the shoulder. The rest of the team have great faces for radio, regrettably not television. Time for a complete overhaul. Channel 9 arn’t much better. Jacka.
JackaParticipantI also saw her photo and she looked fantastic, 81 years old unbelievable. It would be great if we could all look as good as her at that age, male or female. I imagine it would have cost her a lot of money over the years to retain that appearance. Anyhow, good luck to her, keep on running while you can. Jacka.
22 May 2023 at 10:22 am in reply to: What generic products do you buy – and when do you prefer the branded version? #1801237JackaParticipantThe generic brands of medication are on a par with the big name products. You don’t have to worry about the effectiveness on the quality of the product they’re all A1. Supermarkets basics such as sugar, flour, milk, dried pasta, many canned products tomatoes, beetroot, beans, the list goes on, just as good as the Over Priced Brand-Name products. Don’t start me on tissues, since Covid-19 the quality, eg. thickness etc. has diminished along with dining napkins. Their probably ok for ladies taking off make-up and general bathroom use, however I’ve returned to the good old handkerchief. More effort but a far better result. That’s All, Jacka.
15 May 2023 at 10:33 am in reply to: Is this Australia’s final voyage to Eurovision – and do you care? #1800587JackaParticipantOver the years I have watched Eurovision on a number of occasion. Always interesting but not always overly entertaining. A lot of very strange people have taken the stage they’re over the years. I think Europe is a great place for Eurovision, far far from Australia. I also think Australia’s exit from Eurovision should have taken place after Jessica Mauboy’s shocking performance, which was graded a long last by all participants in the event. And I am still scratching my head as to why we were there in the first place. Have a good day, a confused Jacka.
JackaParticipantStrangely enough I sympathise with the vegan. How people can be vegans and vegetarians is totally beyond me but that’s their choice. I do find it someone disgusting the smell or stench of burning meat flooding through your windows. I’m a big meat eater just finished off a turkey chicken and ham sandwich with a little coleslaw, yum. A number of years ago when I was living in apartment block at Kirra not far from the beach, my neighbour would come home every night at around 7:00-7:30pm,(long after I had finished my dinner), and he would fire up the BBQ. His balcony virtually touched mine and although he did have his BBQ down the far end, he would go in and out in and out how many times I don’t know, opening and slamming his sliding door to keep the smoke and stench of the burning meat out of his apartment. However, it was flooding into my apartment, which does leave grime and grease all over the walls and ceiling. Winter wasn’t too bad as I had my sliding door closed. However for 9 months of the year it was not alright. So yes , I do have sympathy for our strange little Vegan friends, and it’s not only Vegans who don’t appreciate being smoked out by ignorant neighbours. Jacka.
JackaParticipantYes Once Upon A Time payday was something to look forward to. Receiving real money, cash in a packet, amazing. People valued money back then, for that very reason, it was tangible. Off to the bank to deposit what was left after allowing for Room and Board for Mum and Dad and your own personal expenses. A lesson the young of today dearly need to learn. Fantastic plastic and they call it progress, what a load of cobblers. Jacka.
JackaParticipantOf course, large and or obese people should pay for 2 seats. I do have sympathy for people with genuine medical conditions which causes some form of elephantitis, however they too should pay for two seats on a plane or a bus or a train, all forms of public transport. On a plane you’re allowed a certain amount of luggage due to weight restrictions, there should be no difference regarding the weight of people. Apart from the safety issue, people should show some manners and regard for their fellow travellers comfort. The End. Jacka.

JackaParticipantOf course public transport should not be free. Nothing should be free. If you don’t pay or make effort to receive something you do not appreciate it and there are, God knows, enough bludgers and no hopers around at the moment without encouraging more. Jacka. Next Question.
JackaParticipantWomen’s sport. A total contradiction of terms. Enough said Jacka. Next subject please.
6 December 2022 at 10:36 am in reply to: Why supermarket giant is trialling colour-coded registers #1783784JackaParticipantI still can’t understand why they don’t make all the checkouts cash or card, wouldn’t that be simpler. Not being pushed to one side because you want to what use cash and no confusion which machine you can and can’t use. I think it’s a no brainer. Obviously I must be a bit dim, perhaps I applied for a job in the Government. Cheers Jacka.
JackaParticipantI to have no problem with MyGov. I find it very easy to use and quite effective. Typical of the Government, they have something that actually works and they want to change it. Mark my words,it won’t be for the better. Jacka
JackaParticipantSorry, when I first saw the article, Communities Put On Alert Over Disgusting Pests, I thought it had Political Overtones and referred to the disgusting creatures known as Politician’s. I now see it references Cane Toads, who caused a hell of a lot less damage than Politicians, the self-righteous,hypocritical,nest feathering, travel wroughting bludgers (in most case), who continually rape the Australian Taxpayer. Sorry, I do apologise to the humble Cane Toad. Jacka.
JackaParticipantI really think her physician could have come up with a better cause of death then the one he has. She obviously went downhill very quickly after the death of Prince Philip and lost so much weight it wasn’t funny. I really don’t think old age does that to you,or a lot of us wouldn’t be here now. Regards Jacka.
JackaParticipantWhat would you expect, he’s a politician, that says it all. Jacka.
JackaParticipantExactly Troubadour, as I explained to my other half, a Politician’s wage is simply the tip of the iceberg, it’s the perks and the wrought where the big money is. And I will reiterate, that it’s ridiculous money paid to mostly unqualified people. Although I hate the term it’s not fair, (something I would expect to hear in the school ground), unfortunately it is a fact, very similar to Oprah Winfrey’s backside, it’s just not fair. Have a good day, Jacka.
JackaParticipantYes the usual political double-dealing, you get $20, the lowly intelligent public cheer, then reality bites, when the Politicians get $5000 to $20000. Nothing new, it doesn’t make any difference which Political Party is in, they look after number one, feather their own nests at the expense of the taxpayer and to hell with the general public. You would think that they would have the intelligence and the common decency to increase their own wages 12 months or so down the track and not before their asses have hit their newly found seats. Anyhow, I find it an absolutely ridiculous system, the electoral commission/system should be totally overhauled and no longer allow idiots to vote for idiots, with little or no qualifications for any job, much less that of running a country. I suppose it could be worse, the Greens could be in power and then there would be no power, no jobs, no nothing, just more druggies, unemployed and protest marches, disrupting the hard-working people of Australia. So I suppose we’re well off, Ha Ha. Jacka.
